Hello,
I am a new LDTC and need help with understanding a few things. i would like to start with the fact that i don't feel as though i learned everything i should have in my program to do my job. But I have read and studies many books to compensate for the missing info. Anyhow my question today is what is a Psychoeducational Report what tests are conducted and by who? I always understood that the Cognitive aspect of the WJiii was to be done by the Psyche not the LD because we are not qualified to do so. i currently work with another LD who obviously does not like to share information and found that when she worte her reports her title page read Psychoeducational report.
if someone could please clarify for this I would greatly appreciate it.
The other question is this, Is the WJIII an appropriate testing tool for pre-k 2. in my district i was told that i was not to use it as it is not considered an appropriate tool. I am at a loss most of everything I learned is turned inside out here.
My last question is this, when writing reports are they supposed to be written so that they are considered "parent friendly" or (watered down or as the director put it "dumbed down"? I was always told that our reports are to be written in accordance to the WJ III and the code. In addition i alwasy understood that this is the very reason we have the eligibility meetings to review with the parent all of the highlights and provide examples.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Trinity
