What format do you prefer for ALC workshops?

Currently, ALC runs 2 all day conferences, and evening regional workshops to encourage professional development. What is your preference? There are also some informal groups that meet on a regular basis to discuss topics that are of particular interest to them. Should ALC promote more of this? Would you be willing to host it? or assist with hosting?
